Shahabad was declared as a District with Head Quarter at Ara, as early as 1782 A.D.

  • Shershah : Battle of Chausa 1540 Transfer of power from Mughal ruler to Afghans
  • Battle of Buxar : 1764 Transfer of power from Mughal Rulers to the East India Company
